England’s tour of South Africa moves on to its final part that is the T20 series. The teams will conclude the tour with a T20 series playing two matches, the first one will be played today that is February 19th at the Newlands in Cape Town and the second one will be played on February 21st at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. The teams have played two four matches and five One Day Internationals throughout the tour, the test series was won by the visitors by 2-1 and the One Day series was won by South Africa by 3-2. Match Overview
The One Day series has been concluded and what a series it has been. Starting off we had the first One Day being played at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein where Englanbd won by 39 runs, then the second One Day was played at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth where England won by 5 wickets and took a 2-0 lead in the One Day series. South Africa have already lost the test series and was on the verge of losing the One Day series as well but they did not gave up, the third One Day was played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion where South Africa won the match by 7 wickets and then they went on to win the fourth One Day as well which was played at New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg by 1 wicket. The series was level at 2-2 and the teams will need to win the final One Day if they wanted win the series.
The final One Day was played at the Newlands in Cape Town where South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl. England was able to make 236 in 45 overs before they were bowled out, Alex Hales was the pick of the batsmen for England as he made 112 in 128 balls with 14 fours. Rabada, Tahir and Wiese all took three wickets each. South Africa was able to chase the total in 44 overs with five wickets remaining as de Villiers made a ton.
It was a tough match for both of the teams however as SA’s side was heavier than of England from the very start of the match with some mind blowing players like, Duminy and Amla, SA won the match between SA vs England. Although during the last overs England has a chance to overcome the situation but they were unable to groom during the same.
