Buffalo mass shooting took the lives of ten people. The suspect is in custody, but the name has been revealed as Payton Gendron of Conklin. Besides killing 10, he wounded three more people at the scene. Per authorities, a man opened fire at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.
The Buffalo Police said that they have arrested the suspect and will be charged with murder. The officials are calling today’s mass shooting – a hate crime – and a – case of racially motivated violent extremism.

Joseph Gramaglia, Buffalo Police Commissioner, told TheReporterTimes that the mass shooting in Buffalo took place at 2:30 pm. According to him, an 18-year-old White man is the suspect and is in custody now. However, he is not a local. He drove his vehicle to a Tops Friendly Market. He hasn’t been identified yet, but was heavily armed and had a tactical helmet and gear.

Initially, the suspect shot four people in the parking lot out of which three died. Upon entering the store, he came across a retired police officer who used to work in the store as a security guard. The guard fired at him, but the bullets couldn’t harm him due to his tactical gear. The suspect fired at the guard, and he got killed. The security guard hasn’t been named yet.
After a while, the suspect came to the store’s front. Then, he encountered police by putting a gun to his neck. But the police were able to talk him into putting the gun down. There are unconfirmed reports that say the suspect streamed the mass shooting live on Twitch using the name Jimboboiii.
Eventually, the suspect surrendered himself to the police. Then, he was taken into custody.
Our correspondent was told that the police are considering this case as a hate crime and a case of racially motivated violent extremism.

However, Stephen Belongia, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Buffalo Field Office didn’t give details as to how did they conclude the same. Upon asking, the officials said that they have got evidence suggesting some racial animosity.
A law enforcement source told The Reporter Times that the suspect allegedly yelled racial slurs while he opened fire at the people. According to a source, a racial slur was written on the gun of the suspect.

At the press conference, the officials revealed that 11 of the 13 victims were African Americans. Out of those 13 victims, four of them were store employees. One is dead among them.
Kathy Hochul, New York Governor, said that the state has offered assistance to local officials. Hochul is from Buffalo too and has asked people to keep their distance from the area.

In a statement, Tops Friendly Markets said that it is shocked and deeply saddened by the mass shooting that happened at one of its stores. It continued to say that its top priority is the health and well-being of its associates and customers. Per supermarket, they are assisting authorities in the ongoing investigation to their best.
