U.S. Embassy Baghdad have issued warning for students studying in the United States. In a statement released on Tuesday, embassy highlighted the information about entry in United States with visas.
The statement could be read as “Attention Iraqis currently studying in the United States. U.S. Embassy Baghdad encourages all Iraqis currently studying in the US who have returned to Iraq for winter break to review their student visa and passport expiration dates. In order to return to the United States, your passport needs to be valid for 6 months after the date you plan to travel.
The continued statement added about validation of students visa “In addition, your student visa needs to be valid on the day you arrive in the United States. If either of these conditions are not met, you will have trouble entering the United States. You will also need to hand carry your I-20 or your DS2019 with you on the plane so it is available for the airport official – do not put it in your checked luggage. If you need a new visa to return to the U.S. to continue studies please go to our website for instructions and to make an appointment as soon as possible as processing visas can take considerable time.”
United States made it clear with this statement that Baghdad students not carrying visa will be denied entry in the state.
