Neerja 11th Day Monday Box Office Collection Report – Sonam Kapoor’s masterpiece reached 55 Crores

Neerja 11th Day Collection, 11 Days, 2nd Monday Box Office Business and Occupancy Report: Talented actress Sonam Kapoor struggled during her initial days picking up roles and delivering out a commendable performance in her movies. Being introduced as Anil Kapoor’s daughter, she has been stressed to come out with super hits but her debut movie Saawariya ended as a dud at the boxoffice. (see: Sanam Re collection.)

Sonam has been criticized for her poor performance skills which depressed her but she stayed strong and she took her time to come up with an impressive hit. It was then she took her career as a challenge and transformed herself into a decent actress slowly. She has been a fashion freak and keeps herself updated regularly and follows them.

After a decent career and at a crucial point of time, she has been approached with the script of the film which left her confused. She was initially not confident if she can afford to perform in the character of Neerja Bhanot. It was a biopic of the heroic lady who saved 359 lived fighting against the terrorists.

Ram Madhvani who prepared the script for almost two years felt that Sonam Kapoor is the best choice for the movie. He even convinced that it is his responsibility to bring out the actor from her. Sonam was convinced and she signed the movie. She took her time to prepare herself right from the looks to the body language of a flight attendant. N Bhanot was a flight attendant on Panam 73 which was travelling from Mumbai to New York through Karachi.

, 1983 and she sacrificed her life fight with the terrorists saving 359 passengers who were on board. A special set of the aircraft has been erected in Mumbai in which the major part of the film has been shot. The flick has been made on a budget of Rs 13 crores and it was the theatrical trailer that made the difference. The trailer impressed big time which raised the expectations.

9 Days Neerja 2nd Saturday Box Office

The talkie opened louder in the decent screen count and the Neerja collections were Rs 22 crores in India in its first weekend. The flick collected Rs 38.47 crores in its first week across the country. The overseas Neerja collections too have been strong enough and the movie collected Rs 41.98 crores in 9 days of its box office run.

Atul Kasbekar, along with Shanti Sivaram Maini produced the movie on Fox Star Studios. Bling Unplugged presented the film and it is expected to dominate the box-office in its second week too.
