Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Review Rating: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil movie directed by Karan Johar is releasing today in cinemas around the world. Check out ADHM review in this post. The story of ADHM is like any other Karan Johar film primarily directed for a family audience. This time Diwali competition was high enough because all the big bucks releasing have a family rating, and the game is close enough.

ADHM review losses a bit for family movies in India because the audience doesn’t want to watch love stories all the time again and again. Karan had got a nerve of dragging extra-marital relationships in his movies since the early 2000s. But this time he chose a different path to be followed, the story had somehow changed after observing the Dilwale film and the reasons for getting a flop.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Review

Director had composed the film in a way that it looks like adopted from general Bollywood films ideology. There is quite intense melodrama in this movie as the director had decided to profound a new concept in relationships. Earlier the Bollywood movies are targeted at two people falling in love with each and that’s it.

The hero will showcase his passion and get the girl at any cost. The families used to play a major role in the story, but that is actively missing here. The story phase can be related to early 2012 film ‘Cocktail’ but here the story is entirely changed, I am not saying that there is any similarity, but you can connect the storytelling concept.

Another big positive of the movie is, Karan had strongly supported the phase ‘Love Yourself’ in the film. All the three Indian superstars had preferred living and loving themselves first. The character sketch of Fawad Khan is somehow different than others. The movie doesn’t really encourage giving the love first value in your life but reveals how could the friendship would be better than a relationship when you want to live your life.

The profound philosophy of Bollywood films has been challenged here at every step. The basic structure of a movie in India usually declares four important things – money, status, love, and generosity. Love and kindness do exist in the film, but there is definite scarcity in the story of ADHM of money and status.

There the few things which one needed to believe before watching the film is – Everyone is rich and want to get into a relationship. One could guess that Karan didn’t want to get it remarked as ‘Just another Karan Johar film.’

Coming to the most important – story phase, the story is as weak as any other direction. There are not much humps and bumps in the storyline of ADHM which could keep you connected with the film. The movie is all about four people and how their lives got changed, rather than saying four people, it would be good to say that all that Johar wanted to convey was four different type of relationships in the story.

Ranbir Kapoor aka Ayan is a person with the confused character he lives in a world of his own. The story starts with a narration by Ayan himself. He is a successful singer now and offering an interview. Alizeh aka Anushka Sharma is dream girl of every man; she is an energetic, effervescent and insanely crazy girl. But as you might had guessed from the trailer, Fawad Khan aka DJ Ali had broken her heart, and she is not able to be in own senses anymore.

Actually yes, Karan couldn’t make a film standing on one corner of the road. He is a person who loves to walk left and right simultaneously. So according to the story, two strange people are sitting in a blanket and decided to get a friend with each other. The relationship story starts and some chunky comical twists are there.

Then there is the entry of lady in the house, Aishwarya Rai had recently suffered a breakup with her husband Shah Rukh Khan (Cameo role), they met each other during a flight and got cozy with each other. Aishwarya killer dialogues and Ranbir’s irresistible flirtiness are just next to awesome. Ranbir is still in a relationship till then.

Personal roles are very attractive as they show the relationship stories and some entertaining stuff as well. Anushka is quickly lovable, and Aishwarya is enchantress of love and passion, Ranbir is calm and adorable as ever.

The movie is excellent in many stands, first of all, Karan tried to control many old fashioned things in the story. Secondly, the story is entirely new; the concept is fresh, and you can easily get in love with. There are many scenes which take more than expected time during the narration, which is a big negative. It ‘d be nice if there is pure passion in the film. As ADHM is going to present to the Indian audience, the charm of love is very much limited.

The bad – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil review

  • Limited storyline – Only love and affection
  • Narration of the story
  • Missing – Scenes are not directed as they should be

The good

  • Roles of all four stars
  • Shahrukh Khan cameo role
  • Cinematography and Direction is fabulous
  • Ranbir did his best
