Film received a lot of applauds from movie critics found itself in an odd situation with mere 2.2 crore rupees as earnings. But what happened the very next day had shocked everyone. The box office collection had last governed such trends during the initial years of legendary superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna’s time.

4 Days Madari 1st Monday Box OfficeMadaari took an exemplary raise of 34% on Saturday collecting over 3.5 crore rupees on Saturday. However on Sunday, much other cinemas decided to screen the film, and the occupancy doubled as of the opening day.
With not much variation (Other than the normal one) in ticket’s prices, Madaari remains on screen with less or negligible competition. The movie had suffered a lot in South India because of Rajinikanth’s factor in recent release K abali
However, Northern Indian market remains not much affected. Produced with a budget of 24 crore rupees in total, including huge costs of 30% on advertising and printing was one of the small budget films.
The film was released in around 1000-1200 screens throughout the country. The shows were reduced after the opening day because of weak response from the fans. However, some theaters in league cities even observed a high occupancy of 70% during the night shows.

The overall occupancy remains poor. On the opening day, the occupancy didn’t go up from the benchmark of 9% overall in all the theaters. While on weekends’ it improved a bit to 20% in metropolitan cities.
The response of overseas market on Madaari collections was also very much satisfying. Despite getting in few theaters, the earnings came up to 1 crore rupees totaled from all the way. Irrfan Khan’s last film Jazbaa had received positive feedback from the overseas market too.

On Monday, Madaari collection opens flat at the box office. Although the response was not that much, it still managed to make its way to meet the production costs during the first week.
During its lifetime, Madari is expected to earn around 35 crore rupees after the sale of broadcasting rights. That would meet the expenses and could also result some profit. Earlier this month, Irrfan had asked for an interview with Arvind Kejriwal, Narendra Modi, and Rahul Gandhi, among whom, AAP and Congress agreed to it.
