Fitoor 6th Day (6 Days) Wednesday Box Office Collections: Classical director Abhishek Kapoor is one of the finest directors of Bollywood. His debut movie Aryan: The Unbreakable starring Sohail Khan ended as a debacle after which he took two years to get an opportunity.
His second movie Rock On was a smashing hit which brought him into the limelight. Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Shanana Gowami, Prachi Desai and Purab Kohli played the lead roles in the movie which was a smashing hit of 2008. After scoring a massive hit like Rock On, he has taken his time this time for his third movie which released in 2013.

Kai Po Che has been based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Three Mistakes of My Life and the movie too ended as a huge hit. Sushanth Singh Rajput, Asif Basra, Rajkumar Rao, Amit Sadh and Amrita Puri played the lead roles in the movie which has been produced by UTV Motion Pictures.

Exactly after three years he is now back with his next movie Fitoor which is based on the novel Great Expectations penned by Charles Dickens. Many leading producers opposed Abhishek’s idea of transforming Great Expectations into a novel but he wanted it to happen.
Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have been finalized to play the lead roles in the movie and UTV Motion Pictures spent a huge budget of Rs 70 crores for the movie. Amit Trivedi, Komail Shayan, and Hitesh Sonik composed the music for the film and Abhishek Kapoor along with Siddarth Roy Kapoor produced the movie on UTV Motion Pictures banner. The theatrical trailer and the released video songs raised the expectations of the film. The audio of the film was a huge hit all over and Aditya Roy Kapoor, Katrina Kaif promoted the movie across the country.
Fitoor released on February 12th across the world and the movie received a poor response from the audience. The word of mouth has been too bad because of the slow narration and the dragged second half. The screenplay has been below the line and the movie opened with 30% occupancy all over.
Fitoor collections on the box office were Rs 17.40 crores in five days of its box-office run across the country. The collections dipped badly during the weekdays. Fitoor is one of the biggest debacles in the recent times revealed the critics. The makers have spent Rs 70 crores on the movie which will end up losing Rs 40 crores in its final run.
