Fast and Furious 8 Box Office Collection: Numbers have been rolled out and Universal had made $10.4M at 3,310 theaters from the Fate of the Furious on Thursday night. But it loose to Fast and Furious 7 whose holy Thursday collection was $15.8M which makes Furious 8 second best preview night for the franchise. The Fate of the furious has defeated Logan in this section as Logan’s opening collection was $9.5M (first day $33M, weekend $88.4M) but is below guardians of Galaxy’s first night of $11.2M ( First day $37.8M, weekend $94.3M).
As expected this week has stored $100M-$110M for F8, While everything will be clear by the end of Sunday. Fate of the furious will be best opening for a film by Africa American director as F. Gary Gray beat his own previous record marked by straight outta Compton ($60.2M). As report say picture received 88% overall positive reaction which is very close to 89% scored by furious 7 and falls under 90% that furious 6 earned.

Everyone is praising the entertainment thriller Action movie and it’s no surprise that 67% people who bought tickets to F8 will recommend it to their friends Vs 72% who did so for F7. Frequent movie watchers were dominant crowd with 55% last night. 48% watched the F. Gary Gray-directed furious 8 in IMAX which is a huge rise as over 15% who watched F7 in IMAX. F8 also marked its presence all nine 4DX locations in the U.S.; those are the motion movie seats that move to a pic’s action on screen.
Reason movie go-ers gave to see F8 were 22% said it was the trailer they watched in the theater, 14% said it was TV spots, 11% claimed it was friends and family influencing them and 8% respectively said it was the online trailer on YouTube, Facebook or Instagram.
Other major studios have held their date due to the release of F8 which is a wise decision. F8 can’t come at a more good time as movie watchers were getting bored with those kids movie. They wanted something thrilling. And what could be best that Fate of the Furious.
Last night alone three kid pics topped the box office with 20th Century Fox/DreamWorks Animation’s The Boss Baby grossing $3.06M and crossing the century mark in its second week, followed by Beauty and the Beast ($2.7M, $441M in its fourth week) and Sony’s Smurfs: The Lost Village ($1.3M, first week of $18.2M).
After doing a business of $19.7M abroad and up to 44M advance ticket sale in China, F8 looks big with an estimated $9M-$11M Thursday night at domestic box office.
In total, Furious 7‘s $15.8M Holy Thursday at 3,069 venues repped 23% of its Good Friday $67.4M business, the second best for that day after last year’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice ($81.55M). F6‘s Thursday night, which occurred prior to the Memorial Day stretch, grossed $6.5M ultimately repping 17% of the $38.7M made on its first Friday. Furious 7 set a new Easter opening record of $147.1M in 2015 before Batman v. Superman unseated it a year ago with a $166M three-day haul.
Every report is hinting towards F8 going to $100M-$110M domestic opening. This sequel will be best opening for F. Gary Gray.

Furious 8 has grossed over $900+ million worldwide and inching closer to $1B mark. It will soon take over Furious 7’s record of $1.5B. The film is yet to release in Japan (April 28).
