Darwyn Cooke Cancer: The wife of the creator and comic book writer-artist Darwyn, Marsha Cooke informed that her husband has been suffering from cancer, and he is being given palliative care for aggressive cancer. In a blog post, Cooke wrote the following.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce Darwyn is now receiving palliative care following a bout with aggressive cancer. His brother Dennis and I, along with our families appreciate the outpouring of support we have received. We ask for privacy as we go through this very difficult time. Darwyn Cooke is widely known for his written creation of DC: The New Frontier and the novels work of the Richard Stark Parker, which he adapted to work. Also, he along with Ed Brubaker redesigned the DC’s Catwoman character’s costume in 2001 which stands up to this day. (check: Azhar collection.)
Apart from the work related to comic books, Cooke has been working in animation which ranges from Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series and the Batman Beyond. He has worked for the 2006 release Warner Bros. full length animated film New Frontier, which Cooke co-wrote and art directed. (watch: The Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 Finale.)
Moreover, Cooke is also regarded for his work on the recent DC/Vertigo series Twilight Children. Recently, he had announced that he will be working for his first creator-owned series titled Revengance, for Image Comics.
