Azharuddin is doing a great business in the Indian market, and the boxoffice collections of the film are growing as per the expectations. Totaling the BO collections to 7 crore rupees for Saturday – Day 2, the movie had grown below the average. Generally, films achieving more than three stars grow at the rate of 30-40% on the weekends. Azhar collections are not mere strange but also raised a big question over the craze in cricket among Indian audience.

Earlier, the movies based on cricketers were in trend post-2011, and it was an attempt to relive the same moments once again.

The slow performance of box office had hinted that the overall lifetime collections of the film are hardly going to cross 50 crores, which is yet a setback for the producers. The alarming situation comes as the business from songs had also reduced over the period of time.

Budget: Its seems hard that big cinema will be able to meet out the production budget of 28 crores in the first weekend. Moreover, around 12 crores had been spent on marketing, printing, promotion and publicity, totaling the budget of the movie to 40 crores Indian Rupees. Kumar Mangat had purchased the rights for 22.5 Crores. Music rights have been sold to approx. 4 crores.

Screen Count: The screen count for Azhar movie was around 2500 screens throughout the country. Adding to 300 screens in the overseas market the film was released on over more than 2800 screens.

Azhar 1st Day Collections: On Day 1, the movie occupancy opens with 25% average occupancy with a positive response from the metro cities. The collections for the first day was 6.30 crore rupees.

Azhar 2nd Day Collections: On Day 2, the occupancy decreased in the rural areas with a hike in urban areas. The overall response towards occupancy from the metro cities was 30% and the collection for the 2nd day was seven crore rupees.

Azhar 3rd Day Collections: The movie collected 7.8 crore rupees on the third day totalling the box office collections to 21.10 crores till now.

Azhar fourth Day Collections: As expected, the movie targeted a particular audience and failed to impress the same people on day 4 totalling the box office earnings for the fourth day to 2.90 crores rupees only.

Azhar 5th Day collection: The final report is yet to come but the collections for the 3rd day was, according to sources are more than nine crore rupees on Sunday, totaling the first-weekend collection earnings to 22 crore rupees.

Moving to the international overseas boxoffice collections, it had collected adequate amount from USA and UAE. The film doesn’t seem to be performing okay in the Arab market. However, the response from Europe is active.
