Kodansha Manga Awards Winners 2016: The 40th installment of the one of the most prestigious awards in the manga industry were announced today. There were many big names in the list of nominees like ERASED, Ajin, Seraph of the End, and others. (check: MCD bypolls results.)

BEST SHOUNEN MANGA: “DAYS” by Tsuyoshi Yasuda
Other Nominees: Seraph of the End, Noragami, and My Hero Academia.
BEST SHOUJO MANGA: “Kiss Him, Not Me” by Junko
Other nominees: Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai, Say “I love you”., Nijiiro Days, and First Love Monster.
BEST GENERAL MANGA: Kounodori by Yuu Suzunoki
Other nominees: Ajin – Demi-Human, Golden Kamuy, Tokyo Tarareba Musume, and Boku dake ga Inai Machi/ ERASED.
There are people in a considerable amount who are upset with the results as some of the most popular nominees like ERASED and Seraph of the End didn’t won anything.
Last year, Nakaba Suzuki’s The Seven Deadly Sins and Wataru Watanabe’s Yowamushi Pedal manga won the Best Shounen Manga award, Tsunami Umino’s Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu manga won the Best Shoujo Manga award, and Tsutomu Nihei’s Knights of Sidonia manga won the Best General Manga award.
