The JEE Advanced 2018 date for registration, filling of application form, exam, and admit card has been released by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Earlier, JEE main 2018 result was announced on April 30, Monday on jeemain.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in.
The seven zones of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) conducts this national level engineering entrance exam. The Joint Admission Board (JAB) conducts the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced every year. It’s an annually phenomenon. The qualifying students get to take admission in 23 IITs across India.
The IITs run a variety of academic programs. The JEE Advanced is a qualifying criteria (cut off) for B.Tech., B.S., B.Arch., Dual Degree B.Tech. M.Tech., Dual Degree B.S. M.S., Integrated M.Tech., and Integrated M.Sc. The IITs also have programs like B.Des., M.Tech., M.Sc., M.Des., Ph.D, etc. and their qualifying criteria is different.
JEE Advanced 2018 Date and Schedule
The advanced exam of JEE 2018 will have a total of 2 papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. In order to qualify the test, the candidates will have to take both the papers of three hour duration each. The examination schedule is as follows:

Important Facts
It’s a national level exam conducted for Undergraduate programs. This time, it is being conducted by IIT Kanpur and a total of 2,24,000 candidates will be eligible to take the exam. The mode of exam is completely online and the seats will be filled through JoSAA counselling.
JEE Advanced 2018 Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals
Criterion 1 – Performance in JEE (Main) 2018: Candidates need to qualify the JEE main exam by coming in the first/top 224000 students. It includes all categories in JEE Mains Paper 1. The percentages’ of various categories is as follows – 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 50.5% for General/Open category which is open for all. And 5% in all categories is reserved for PwD candidates.
Criterion 2 – Age limit: The date of birth of candidates can’t be before October 1, 1993. However, five years of relaxation has been provided to SC, ST, and PwD candidates. So, their date of birth should be on or after October 1, 1988.
Criterion 3 – Number of attempts: Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced only two times in two consecutive years and not more.
Criterion 4 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: The appearing candidates should have appeared for the Class 12 examination for the first time in either 2017 or 2018.
Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs: Candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled after joining any IIT are not eligible to appear in JEE Advance 2018. He/she should not have been admitted in any IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past.
